Chinese names and your design

Do I need to have a Chinese name already?

No. You can explore Chinese name ideas through our design experience, or enter an existing name of two or three Chinese characters. Review the meaning and characters before choosing a design. Name ideas are creative suggestions, not an official name registration or a legal name-change service.

Are the Chinese name ideas free? Does that include a seal?

You can explore Chinese name ideas without purchasing a seal. A physical personalised stone seal is a separate paid product. Check the selected product and checkout total before placing an order.

Can I design seals for a couple or a family?

The design experience supports individual, couple and family designs, with up to six people. Each seal is individually boxed; a shared couple or family gift box is not a standard promise. Contact us if you have a particular gifting requirement.

What do red and white lettering mean?

Red lettering, or raised carving (朱文), leaves the characters raised so they form the red part of the impression. White lettering, or recessed carving (白文), cuts the characters into the seal so they appear as uninked lines within the impression. Review the lettering style on your final design proof.

Will I approve the design before carving?

Yes. A final design proof is approved before carving begins. Check the Chinese characters and layout carefully and use an email address that you check regularly for approval messages. A screen preview is a design guide, rather than a photograph of the finished carving.

Stone, sizes and prices

Which colours and sizes can I choose?

The current Qilin collection includes white, yellow and cyan natural stone seals, with 3.0 cm and 4.0 cm specification options. The selected product page is the source for available choices. Stone colour and natural markings vary, and the actual stone is confirmed before carving.

How much does a seal cost?

Current listed prices are US$79 for the 3.0 cm option and US$99 for the 4.0 cm option. Availability and prices may change; the product page and your final checkout details take precedence. Shipping options and charges depend on the delivery address.

Production and delivery

How long does production take?

Production takes approximately five calendar days after the final design is approved. Time spent choosing or approving a design is separate. This is an estimate, so please contact us before ordering if you need a seal for a particular occasion.

Where do you ship, and how long does shipping take?

We offer worldwide shipping, subject to the address and delivery options available at checkout. Shipping is estimated at seven to twelve calendar days after dispatch, in addition to production time. These are estimates rather than guaranteed arrival dates. See our shipping policy for details.

Are shipping charges and import duties included?

Available shipping services and charges are shown at checkout for your address. Our shipping policy states that CNEMBER covers import duties. This does not mean that every order has free shipping or that every other possible tax or charge is included; review your checkout details and contact us if anything is unclear.

Cancellations and help after delivery

Can I cancel or return a personalised seal?

You may cancel without charge before carving begins. Email contact@cnember.com with your order number as soon as possible so we can check production status. Once carving has begun, personalised items cannot be returned for non-quality reasons. Quality problems, incorrect carving or shipping damage can be reviewed for an appropriate refund or replacement under our refund policy. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

What should I do if my seal arrives damaged or incorrect?

Contact us within three days of delivery with your order number, a description of the problem and clear photographs of the seal and its packaging. Keep the item and packaging while the issue is reviewed. Please see the refund policy for the full conditions.
