How to Choose a Personalized Chinese Name Seal
A Chinese name seal is a personal mark: a small carved object that can carry a name and a story. At CNEMBER, the process starts with the person who will use or receive it.
1. Choose a Chinese name with meaning
An English name does not always have one fixed Chinese equivalent. Pronunciation is one starting point; character meanings and the qualities you want to express also matter. In our Chinese name design studio, you can compare suggested names or enter an existing Chinese name. Seal names use two or three Chinese characters.
Read the name explanation alongside the characters. A name chosen for yourself might express a quality you value; a gift might reflect a shared memory or a new beginning. Review the spelling of the original name and the selected Chinese characters carefully.
2. Pick a stone color
Our current Qilin collection includes white stone, yellow stone and cyan stone. The Qilin is a mythical creature in Chinese tradition, commonly associated with good fortune. Choose a color for its appearance rather than assuming a photograph identifies a particular mineral or guarantees an exact shade.
Natural stone varies in color and markings. The actual stone is confirmed before carving, so tell us if a particular tone or pattern matters to you.
3. Compare the available sizes
Check each product page for current size options, price and availability. The design studio reads the available options for the color you choose. For a couple or family, each seal has its own name, color and size; review each one separately.
4. Choose white or red lettering
Recessed carving leaves the characters white within a red impression. Raised carving produces red characters. These are different visual treatments of the seal face. Compare them with the available seal fonts and choose the combination you prefer.
5. Treat the preview as a guide
The on-screen preview helps you explore the layout. It does not replace the final carving proof, and it cannot predict every natural stone marking or hand-carved detail. Leave an email address you check regularly so we can communicate about your design before carving.
